Poo says: Chad VanGaalen back in your third album, Soft Airplane, a mix of "mezzo folk, mezzo eletronic" that have been a trend on the indie scene, but executed in a unique form that just Chad knows provide us. Impossible separate the work of Chad and his personality, creative, haunted, "paranoid" e incredible simple-minded, maybe this are his main traits that inflict into his way of express music. Soft Airplane is like a trip, a dream or even death, like in Rabid Bits of Time lyrics, or even the three like in Willow Tree, that report how would be the viking funeral of the author. It´s possible note that Chad has left some aspects of your late albuns, aspects that gave a amateur esthetic to his work that was replaced by synths and some eletric beats united perfectlly with his folk take. The album follow relating doubts, assassinations, death but in a spontaneous and exciting way, beside this sinister esthetics that involve the album, Soft Airplane for me is one of the 2 best 2008 albuns (within Dear Science from Tv On The Radio).

Poo diz: Estou feliz de finalmente estar escrevendo esse review, venho adiando isso a meses.Chad VanGaalen devolta em seu terceiro album, Soft Airplane,uma mistura "mezzo folk, mezzo eletronic" que vem se tornando uma tendência na cena indie, mas executado de uma forma única que só Chad sempre soube nos proporcionar. Impossivel separar o trabalho de Chad de sua personalidade, criativo, assustador, "paranóico" e incrivelmente simplório, talvez essas sejam as suas principais caracteristicas que afetam diretamente na sua forma de expressar música. Soft Airplane é como uma viagem, um sonho ou até mesmo a morte como diz a letra de Rabid Bits of Time, ou quem sabe os três de uma só vez como em Willow Tree, que narra como seria o tão desejado enterro viking do autor. É possivel perceber que Chad deixou de lado aspectos marcantes como em seus albuns anteriores, aspectos que davam um ar mais amador ao seu trabalho que foi maravilhosamente substituido por alguns sintetizadores e batidas mais eletronicas casados perfeitamente com sua levada folk. O album segue narrando dúvidas, assassinatos, mortes de forma espontanea e emocionante apesar de toda esta estética funebre que envolve o album, Soft Airplane para mim é um dos dois melhores albuns de 2008 (juntamente de Dear Science de Tv On The Radio).
