Jinxed says: Completelly unkown just got attention before the collab in the production of the prized soundtrack of Little Miss-Sunshine, and this is how it begins to the multi-instrumentalist quartet of Denver. The name Devotchka came from the language created by Nasdat to enrich your universe to the book "A Clockwork Orange" (later turn into movie by the magical hands of Stanley Kubrick), where devotchka means "young girl" like in the old and good russian.
The band has a exotic style sometimes typical from eastern-europe, gipsy and latin. Distorted guitars, acordeon, violin, trumpet and the misterious bouzouki, make a non common selection of instruments for a rock band. Impossible do not compare to Ennio Morricone and your thick soundtracks to Western and spaghetti Far-West movies, to younger ones just remember about some tracks of "Kill Bill" soundtrack played by the master Ennio.
"How It Ends" easily will charm any listener with Urata delivering all pain in this one which is for sure one of the most beautiful songs from last times. "The Enemy Guns" is the first songs which transport us to the far-west climate, loaded and frenetic goes opening way to the frightening "No One is Watching" which soon give space to the also frightening and latin "Twenty-six Temptations". Changing completelly the album rhythm follow the trippy “Charlotte Mittnacht (The Fabulous Destiny Of…)” bringing back the european clime, which soon is break by "We´re Leaving" full of latin vitality. "Dearly Departed" and "Such a Lovely Thing" bring all the pain and doubt from "You Love Me" which are the partners from "How It Ends" almost completing into a story. The innocent "Too Tired" antecede the tense clime from "Viens Avec Moi" and the nostalgic "This Place is Haunted" is almost a farewell. "Lunnaya Pogonka" into your gipsy theme full of passion give to the short and misty "Reprise" the final point of the album.
"How It Ends" is a complete, intense and exotic album, making impossible the task of select only few tracks to recommendation.

O nome Devotchka vem da lingua criada por Nasdat para enriquecer seu universo no livro Laranja Mecânica (posteriormente transformado em filme pelas mágicas mãos de Stanley Kubrick), no qual devotchka significa "jovem garota" como no bom e velho russo.
A banda tem um estilo exótico que hora aparenta tipico do leste europeu, cigano e em outras completamente latino.
