Poo says: The newest project of Stuart Murdoch counts with his friends of Belle & Sebastian, an orchestra and more 8 new vocalists, Asya (Smoosh), Brittany Stallings, Dina Bankole, Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy), selected and reunite by social network (iMemm) and Catherine Ireton (The Go Away Birds) which lead 10 of 14 songs and had a small participation in Belle & Sebastian´s last EP, “White Collar Boy".
The project began while Stuart Murdoch was writting a musical film by the same name that will be shot in 2010, what makes the album almost a pre-soundtrack for the film.
The album follow a 60´s pop trend, folk and jazz make me remind about Carpenters with a indie-pop appeal what bring us to a B&S with female vocals. The album has some jewels by the excellent lyrics and melodies from Murdoch and the evident talent of Ireton, but may disappoint some fans of B&S which was waiting for something different. For a movie that even isn´t under production we may say that it has a high quality soundtrack.

Poo diz: O mais novo projeto de Stuart Murdoch conta com seus companheiros de Belle & Sebastian, uma orquestra e mais 8 novos vocalistas entre eles, Asya (Smoosh), Brittany Stallings, Dina Bankole, Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy), selecionados e reunidos via rede social (iMemm) e Catherine Ireton (The Go Away Birds) que esta a frente de 10 das 14 músicas e teve uma pequena participação no último EP de Belle & Sebastian, “White Collar Boy".
O projeto deve inicio enquanto Stuart Murdoch escrevia o roteiro para um filme músical de mesmo nome que vai ser rodado em 2010, o que faz do album quase uma pre-trilha para o filme.
Seguindo uma tentência pop sessentista, folk e jazz faz-me recordar de Carpenters com um apelo um pouco mais indie-pop o que nos eleva a um B&S com vocais femininos. O album tem suas jóias por conta das excelentes letras e melodias de Murdoch e o evidente talento de Ireton, mas pode decepcionar alguns fãs de B&S que esperavam por algo diferente. Para um filme que ainda nem mesmo entrou em produção podemos dizer que tem uma trilha sonora de altissima qualidade.
